Ford posts strong first-quarter earnings of $2.6B

Ford Motor Co. this morning announced its best first quarter earnings since 1998: $2.6 billion, or 61 cents per share. The results, an increase of $466 million over the first quarter of 2010, far exceeded analysts' expectations of about 50 cents per share.
