2012 E 63 AMG Revealed Ahead Of Australian Debut

The range-topper in Mercedes-Benz' E-Class line is the next to gain the company's new V8 engine, revealed this week in the form of the 2012 E 63 AMG. Little has changed on the outside, but under the bonnet is AMG's new 5.5 litre twin-turbo V8 engine, replacing the 6.2 litre V8 of the current model.  While the outgoing engine developed a perfectly healthy 386kW and 630Nm, the smaller and newer 5.5 litre V8 offers 391kW and a giant 700Nm of torque between 1750 and 5000rpm.
